VS, or Victorious Secret, were re-branded back in 2015 following a consensus from the squad of the time to reflect on our rather unfortunate win rate on the pitch. Since then whilst members have come and gone the team has gone from strength to strength, both on and off the pitch, culminating in us winning the Sunday mixed league for the first time ever in the 2019/2020 season and retaining the title in 2020/2021! No pressure now to stay on top...

However what hasn’t changed throughout the seasons has been our sense of social togetherness. Taking great pride and spirit in being a social mixed side, we have always welcomed players regardless of their hockey ability, instead focusing more on having fun and a laugh. Most of the squad get their competitive hockey fix, men’s and ladies, through their Saturday games leaving Sundays a more light-hearted but still competitive affair. That said we do still have a core of players whose only hockey is through VS and we even have players whose very first games of hockey have been through Sundays and VS!

In keeping with our social spirit, after every game the team would always return to the local pub for a debrief of the game with light-hearted votes on players of the match before whiling away the rest of the day and weekend with some drinks and other games. In the off-season we look to maintain our social ethos with weekend meet-ups, the odd game of beer pong or flip cup and even trips away; you can choose how involved you want to be without any commitment!
